Spine and posture correction begins with a detailed and advanced posture and x-ray analysis to quantify the subluxations. Once it is determined that subluxations are present then, after the pain relief phase of care, we can attempt to correct the condition.
Spine and posture correction/rehabilitation consists of:
Mirror Image (Opposite of the abnormal)
Postural Exercises + Postural Adjustments + Postural Traction
Postural exercises
Consisting of mirror image (opposite of bad posture), specific maneuvers, not gym equipment, to strengthen postural muscles to obtain optimal posture and spine.
Postural Adjustments
Although traditional Chiropractic manipulative adjustments are performed in the relief phase of care, regular adjustments alone will not restore normal postural and spinal position. To correct abnormal postures we perform mirror image postural adjustments.
Postural Traction
Ligaments attach bones to bones. The spine contains 24 movable bones with ligaments between each bone. When the spine and posture are out of proper alignment this causes the ligaments to change shape according to the abnormal spinal position. Mirror image postural traction is performed to remodel the spinal ligaments that have adapted an abnormal and unhealthy “subluxated” position.
